travel snaggle

I was supposed to have flown to Toronto Friday night, but there was quite the slushy, sleety storm blowing around New York City so flights were canceled and the airports closed. My mother is now driving ot Ottawa by herself (the whole point of me going to Toronto had been to accompany her in the car, since she prefers not to drive such a distance on her own).

I am now flying to Ottawa tonight and meeting my mother there to continue sorting and organizing my grandmother's belongings.

I got in a bit more editing yesterday, had intended to go in today, then realized it would mean bringing my external hard drive to Canada with me, which I'd rather not do.

Ooh! I can hear a flock of Canada Geese flying overhead! Spring...

third thought?

One good reason for having a new blog on a different host is that it's a minor pain to log in and out of two different accounts on the same host.

on second thought

Maybe I'll make my new 'out' journal over at LiveJournal, since 'rackle' is available there (it had been someone else's journal but was deleted and purged, so now I can use it) and I like a lot of LJ's features, like the 'friends' and 'communities' for example: rackle.livejournal.com.

a new day, a new blog

I'm on a web kick today. I impulsively acquired two (more) domain names, have finally begun cobbling together some basic form of personal website (not that I haven't had several in the past - anyone remember qnerd.com or interlog.com/~erinart?). Then I decided that, after nearly four years of anonymized web journaling elsewhere, I wanted a public blog with my actual name associated with it. I've been surfing the weeb for eleven years (and helping to keep small portions of it running behind the scenes from 1997 to 2004), I think it's safe now, or at least worth the small risk.
